THERE has been another incident of hoons running down plovers and their chicks on Dalmeny Headland sometime between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning last week.

Doug Pearson of Dalmeny said that you could see the tracks on the grass where the driver had gone around twice lining up the birds.
And to the driver of the vehicle Doug would like to say:
“Just in case you were wondering… yes you did kill all three plover chicks and their mother when you squashed them with your wheels.
“I hope for their sakes it was your first pass that killed them instantly.
This is not the first time that Narooma News has run a story about hoons deliberately running down plover chicks on the headland.
It was in September last year that another Dalmeny couple saw a car deliberately line up and kill plover chicks on the headland.
