On Saturday, fives of pairs was played and the lucky rinks winners were Kevin Goodridge and John Scott on rink five. The runners-up were “That Flying Dutchman”,Henk Koster and Rod Holman on rink four. The joker was not turned up and next week’s jackpot stands at $400. The winners of the afternoon of social bowls on Sunday were Ronda Walters, Kevin McCarroll, Rachael Smith and Kenny Burrows, 20 shots, over Leo Winter, Denise Holman, Graeme Smith and Pat Wood, 10 shots.
In the mixed pairs championship, Bev and Keith Bowater beat Margret Naylor and Jay Breust. Bev and Keith also beat Gail Riley and Keith Pickett. That win puts Bev and Keith Bowater into the final. Other Match wins went to Mavis Hardy and Stan Bordiuk over Sue and Warren Bender, also Lila Gosper and John Breust over Coral and Paul Read.
