They joined with nine other technology based start up ventures to promote the Robo Rebels Team and their unique business plan that involves generating a sustainable income through running student led Robo Camps for young people in the region.
Cyann Vlatkovic, Jacob Hicks, Rohan Hodge and Campbell Allison were excellent ambassadors for the Team and Narooma High School.
They were able to share their stories of competition and the broad range of skills they have acquired through being part of this team.
Skills such as working in a multidisciplinary team, valuing input from all team members, solving complex mechanical and engineering issues on the go and under pressure, graphic design and publicity as well as developing promotion ability and becoming mentors to younger students.
Campbell gave a confident and entertaining history of our team and presented two short videos that summarized our journey so far. As the future workforce for our region, these students showcased the broad range of skills that they are gaining from participating in the Robo Rebels team.
The team received donations from supporters and two bookings to run Robo camps as part of Science Week, they are also investigating possible sponsorship opportunities from two major organisations present at the Launch Day.
The outreach continued on Wednesday when Robo Rebels from Years 7,8 and 10 visited Narooma Public School and ran workshops in coding and an introduction to using EV3 robots for Years 5 and 6 students.
Robo Rebels are grateful to IntoIT Sapphire Coast who organised the Innovation Week, as well as all local business who have helped the team and believed in us from the beginning.
