Now you can tune in to your favourite community radio station 2EAR FM anywhere you happen to be on your computer, phone or other IT device.
From the radio station's inception back in 1986 there have always been black-spots where it was impossible to receive the broadcast from 2EAR FM.
Now all of that is in the past with live streaming an option. The radio station is based in Moruya and transmits from Mount Wandera.
Thanks should go to the forward thinking of the past and present management committees of EAR Inc who persevered with the issue for the future benefit of the station. A special thanks to Jeff Roll, current president and presenter for his technical expertise and advice and to presenter Peter Edmonds whose support and assistance to Jeff was invaluable.
On April 8 at 4pm, Jeff and Peter made the final connection and Eureka, 2EAR FM was "live streaming"- A huge step forward in broadcasting.
Every picture tells a story, as you will note by the smiles and sighs of relief on the boys’ faces.
In addition, thanks to Steve Shields, vice-president and presenter who got the ball rolling again this year by making contact with the ISP and to Cris McPaul, treasurer and presenter and Kathy Shields, secretary and presenter who helped behind the scenes to get the project off the ground and to its final stages.
EAR management would also like to thank Brian Warren from 2 Triple U Shoalhaven Community Radio for his advice and support over the past months and Ian Clifford, renowned radio technician for his assistance with the wiring at the 9 Rose Street, Moruya Studios.
Danny Chifley and the technical team at the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) were also very supportive with their advice on the live streaming process.
