The Lions won by 134 points to catapult them into the top four for the first time this year and the end of Round 1.
The Lions jumped the Whalers early but some poor kicking had the game evenly posed at quarter time with Lions 6.9 to 1.2. The Whalers outplayed the Lions in the second quarter to narrow the Lions lead to 34 points at the main change.
The Lions teamwork, hard work and potential, all clicked into place in the third quarter and with the wind at their backs, they kicked 13 goals to put the game beyond doubt.
That fine work continued in the last quarter with another 7 goals against the wind. One of the many highlights in the last, was Josh Stokes shot at goal – which dropped short of the goal line – then bounced amazingly over everyone’s heads for a great goal.

The boys proved too strong on the day and could have won by plenty had the kicking boots been on players with 21 behinds kicked during the day. The final score being 2.21.33 against Eden Whalers 0.1.1
