Footage uploaded on Wednesday night showed How Ridiculous member Brett Stanford landing a fish on the end of his line only moments after his first cast.
The "iPhone hook-up" video had been watched 53,000 times by Thursday morning.
"I'm on, I'm on, I'm on with an iPhone," Mr Stanford shouts after hooking the fish.
"That is unbelievable."
After taking a few minutes to reel the salmon in, Brett then releases it back into the water.
"How good," he said.
"If you have an old iPhone that's looking as bad as this one, that's completely destroyed by water and things, stick a treble [hook] on it and you could get a salmon.
"Come to Australia, good times."
The video is not the first fishing-related challenge How Ridiculous has embarked on.
In May 2015, they caught fish off Albany using cutlery.
The group has amassed a following of more than 26,000 people on Facebook and millions of Youtube views since they began uploading footage of their trick-shots online six years ago.
A video showing their world record shot, throwing a basketball 126.5 metres into a net has been viewed more than 7.5 million times.
In 2015, the trio made headlines for landing a ridiculous beach golf shot in Busselton which resulted in an underwater hole-in-one.
