Mr Baird stopped and chatted with the group including president Heather Irwin saying he would take their concerns on board.
The premier and State Member Andrew Constance attended a luncheon at the Narooma Golf Club organised by the Bega State Electorate Conference and the local Liberal Party branches. There were about 60 people present for the lunch.
Mr Baird had been down in Eden and Merimbula with Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull for funding announcements for the port of Eden and Merimbula airport.
Mr Constance invited him to travel up the electorate to the Eurobodalla to meet with various community groups and to look at ongoing success stories, he said.
“It’s been a long time since a premier has visited this part of the world and Andrew was keen for me to travel up this way,” Mr Baird said. “I look forward to meeting with different people like the oyster industry and the view from the golf club here is magnificent.”
Mr Constance introduced him to the luncheon saying this had been the first official visit to the region by a premier since Bob Carr in 2005.
The local member said the Liberal Party had done a lot for the region since coming to power, noting the highway was a lot safer with new projects going on.
And he said tourism businesses in the Eurobodalla would benefit from the funding of infrastructure down at Eden and Merimbula.
