June is bream month.
The weather during the weeks before the weekend had brought some very heavy rain and Tuross lake was still partially in flood and Coila lake had been opened to the ocean after it had reached 2.2 metres.
The beach and ocean were both dirty with the water from the lakes.
This meant fishing was tough in all areas.
Still a reasonable number of anglers took to the waters and 13 anglers entered 27 fish.
The anglers comprised three ladies, nine men and one junior.
Offshore only two anglers entered seven fish, four fish came from Rock and Beach and 15 fish came from the estuaries.
Some great bream were caught in the dirty waters.
Mystery fish drew no.11 Garfish and none were caught carrying the prize over to next month.
MEASURE IN
A very sociable group turned up on Sunday for our monthly Measure In barbecue.
Many thanks again to Tammy for excellent food, and to those who lent a hand in the preparation or brought contributions.
With winter upon us we were pleasantly surprised at the glorious weather.
John Suthern was our Goblet winner with a 50cm bream earning him 130 points, congratulations John.
Rodney Ferderer’s consistent efforts won him Men’s Outside and Rock & Beach categories.
Jo Starling was the only lady winner of the day with her 42.5cm bream and Blake Paul took the junior’s with his nice bream.
David Campbell had the misfortune of winning the Turkey of the Month by falling on his face after the Moruya Race Day and suffering nasty lacerations only a couple of days before flying out on his African Safari.

Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day, teach him how to fish, and you’ll get rid of him every weekend.
