Staff were very pleased with participation levels and all students enjoyed the track, field and novelty events.
This year’s house champion was Corunna, second was Dromedary, third was Montague with Wagonga finishing fourth.
There were some outstanding results with many records broken including: Marcus Lonsdale-Patten in the 15 years 200m; Lilly Bennett in the 16 years girls long jump, 100m, 200m and javelin; Teig Wilton in the 17 years boys high jump; Georgia Poyner in the 16 years 1500m; Mitchell Swadling in the 13 years boys shot put; Kurt Zideluns in the 13 years javelin; Elli Beecham in the 13 years javelin and Conner Brown in the 17 years javelin.
The age group champions are:
12 years girls - Elli Beecham
13 years girls - Makayla Morris
14 years girls - Caitlin Reid
15 years girls - Georgie Brown
16 years girls - Lilly Bennett
17 years girls - Finlay Dibden
12 years boys - Jamieson Tague
13 years boys - Kurt Zideluns
14 years boys - Cameron Hayes-Norman
15 years boys - Kaleb Moritz
16 years boys - Jai Reed
17 years boys - Teig Wilton
These students will receive their awards on the formal assembly next term.
The top two in each event progressed to the zone carnival which was held on June 21 in Cooma.
Narooma High School had 13 students compete at the Regional Cross-Country in Nowra recently.
These students placed in the top six at the Zone Cross-Country on Friday, May 20 in Wolumla.
Of the 13 participants, we had three students who have qualified for the State All Schools Carnival at Eastern Creek Raceway, early in Term 3.
They include Elli Beecham in the 12 years girls, Jack Westoll in the 13 years boys and Georgia Poyner in the 16 years girls.
Narooma High School would like to wish them the best of luck for this carnival.
Narooma High School has also experienced success in netball with our U/15 team in May progressing through to the regional finals after finishing second at the zone gala day.
This is the first time a girls’ team has finished in the top two of the zone in at least 12 years.
We also had 28 netballers attend the first round of the NSW Netball Schools Cup at Broulee in May.
It was a round robin day with both Narooma High girls’ teams as well as the boys’ team progressing to the regional finals in Queanbeyan on August 4.
