“When I go door knocking in Gilmore, I find that Medicare is the number one issue,” Ms Phillips said.
“The government wants to give a $50 billion tax cut to big business and we want to put that back into Medicare, hospitals and education.”
However, Ms Sudmalis wants to assure constituents that the Government will never privatise Medicare and the Medicate rebate freeze was a temporary measure while ballooning health costs were reviewed.
“All services provided by Medicare will continue to be provided by Medicare,” she said.
