Around 45 golfers took to the Narooma golf course in teams for nine holes in challenging, cold and wet conditions, while there were around 50 people at the auction and raffles back at the club house. The charity auction featured "Priscilla" aka VRA training officer Mal Barry handing out the prizes.
Mr Barry thanked the Narooma lady golfers for their continued support of the rescue squad. Initial estimates of the amount raised was around $3500, but the total was yet to be tallied.
The Narooma VRA rescue squad has been quite active in recent weeks assisting with the missing persons search at Dalmeny and also a rock fall incident at Australia Rock.
The squad meets every week for training from 6pm to 8pm at its headquarters on the Narooma Headland behind the Marine Rescue station. The squad is always looking for new members of all capabilities and anyone interested can contact Mal on 0428 525 493.
The Narooma lady golfers will have their annual charity day on again next year, with the funds going to the Narooma RFS brigade as it alternates between the two organisations.
