The Dying to Know Expo will be produced by local businesswoman and chamber member Shanna Provost, known for her commitment to educating the community in the importance of planning well for our later years.
"I have had so many requests to run another Dying Well event that it inspired me to create an even bigger and better event this year,” Ms Provost said.
The expo will run from 10.30am to 2pm on Thursday, August 25 and will feature information stalls from a broad range of services and products, half-hour presentations on topics including Advance Care Directives, Palliative Care, funeral plans and other related issues, plus a chat lounge for people to gather and swap information over a cup of coffee.
"We are grateful to Narooma Sporting and Services Club for its vision and backing,” Narooma chamber president Niels Bendixsen said. “The $2000 seed sponsorship ensures that the event can be free to the community, and that's important to us.”
Narooma Sporting and Services Club general manager Tony Casu said his clubs were always pleased to actively promoting and support the residents of the Narooma and district areas.
“This event is seen by the club as important to the local residents as a means of gaining vital information about a topic that we will all need to know about at some stage of our lives,” Mr Casu said. “The club is proud to be able to fund this project in order to make it freely available to everyone who is interested in attending the event.”
More information about the event is on its way. Related businesses and agencies wishing to be an exhibitor should phone 4476 1523 or email info@dyingwell.com.au
