More than 50 candidates have nominated for the Eurobodalla Shire Council elections in September.
Meet some of them here –
Catalina’s Brian Henshaw wants to be a voice for young people.
“There isn’t enough young people on council and we need a better representation because this is our future home,” he said.
Coral Anderson, of Batehaven, is standing with Community Voice Eurobodalla.
“I wan to bring about change,” he said.
Mossy Point’s Anthony Mayne hopes to become mayor.
Mandy Wheatley, of Narooma, wants to see positive change in council.
Tuross Head resident John Suthern wants to be a strong voice for small communities in the Eurobodalla.
At just 18 Ben Potter is the Eurobodalla’s youngest ever candidate and wants more opportunities for youth.
Community Voice Eurobodalla candidate Tom Wells said he would like to see council protect the nature coast and play a part in the collective effort against climate change.
Deua River Valley resident Peter Comick wants community engagement in the council to be improved.
“We want to reclaim leadership so the councillors take the reigns, as they should do,” he said.
Fiona Whitelaw wants to see the Eurobodalla improved.
Patricia Ludovici, of Tuross Head, wants to serve the people.
“We need to have people in council who will listen to people and all the concerns they have,” she said.
Mayor Lindsay Brown hopes to be re-elected at mayor.
Peter McLaughlin, of South Rosedale, believes he has the “management and leadership experience” that would assist council.
Robbie Law, of Batemans Bay, is running with ‘a better way for Batemans Bay’.
Angie Ulrichsen is running with the Community Voice Eurobodalla group.
