Well done to the boys on the "Moonshadow" who went out to the Southern Seamount off Narooma on Sunday with skipper Dave Moran getting a couple of yellowfin tuna on the troll. Chris Ison of the Bay got a nice 152cm, 45kg fish, while young Cameron Spooner got a smaller yellowfin tuna.

Playstation skipper Nick Cowley also had a cracking day on the water on Sunday managing four nice yellowfin tuna, biggest going just under the 40kg mark along with a 20kg model and a couple smaller fish under the 10kg mark, along with an albacore and releasing a blue shark around the 130kg mark.
Darren “Dash” Bowater at the Narooma Ocean Hut Compleat Angler reports that it looks like the worst of winter is coming to an end as the water temperature in wonderful Wagonga Inlet is slowly warming up.
Currently the water temp is 14-15 degrees and the fish are starting to play ball. The early morning bite lasted from 6am till about 8.30am and was backed up by a short bite around midday, coinciding with the tide change.
Water clarity is still very clear allowing you to be able to read a Narooma News on the bottom in 3m, but light leaders around 4-6lb were doing the trick.
The early morning bite on Saturday consisted of a few salmon and tailor on surface lures, yes that's right surface lures in the winter, then trevally, bream and the odd flathead all played the game in between a truck load of small tailor.
His fishing mate Mark “Hippie” Carradus hooked a flathead of a lifetime and at first site of the head it had us thinking it was well over a meter. But once it was properly sited we realized it was a banjo shark. "Bugger", but on the bright side it was his first "banjo" on a lure.
Graham at Tackleworld Moruya reports bream are still hanging around the boulders behind hospital. On the flats opposite, the odd flathead are starting with a cracking 92cm girl caught and released on a 100mm Gary Glitter Wriggler. At Tuross, bream and perch are being caught around Four Ways and flicking little hard bodies around the snags is a fun way to chase these hard fighting fish just don't keep the perch as it's still closed season. Flathead are on the chew in the shallows down near the entrance and further towards Potato Point using soft plastics. There are still salmon at Coila Beach.
BBC Anglers: A great weekend of fishing for the Bermagui Country Club Social Anglers’ Club resulted in a win for Tad, the lucky angler. Of course, the “fish tales” were the topic of conversation at our Sunday casserole lunch. President Fran thanked all for their contributions and advised members of next month’s comp against the Bermi Hotel anglers, it being an annual event. This is over September 9-11, when we get together on the Sunday at the hotel for a barbecue at 3pm. The usual raffle went the way of Penny with Dawn a runner-up. Members are advised that our annual Christmas getaway, which includes a fishing comp, is at Wallaga Lake Caravan Park, being held over November 25-17. To confirm your booking, please phone president Fran on 6493 5034. – On the Drift
