Proving this point is newly wed couple Andrew Hook and Tammi Breasley, whose recent wedding on the beach at Dalmeny and then Narooma Golf Club is going to be featured on an upcoming episode of ‘Australia’s Cheapest Weddings’.
The show on Channel 7 is described as an observational documentary where the cameras capture what they see with no interference from the producers.
Australia’s Cheapest Weddings follows couples as they plan their perfect wedding – on a tight budget compared the national average of $65,000.
On the September 19 episode, Dalmeny couple Tammi and Andrew will be one of three couples planning their dream day.
According to the producers of the show, Tammi and Andrew have been together for eight months after a whirlwind romance.
They went to high school together, and reconnected via social media much later. They share a love for Marvel comics and tattoos.
Tammi and Andrew have five kids between them – and compare themselves to the Brady Bunch.
They set a $5000 budget for the wedding, and Tammi called it a “paycheck wedding” because like many of us, they live week to week.
The ceremony is on the beach at Dalmeny, with a Narooma Golf Club reception booked as a basic package. They decorate the venue themselves and it’s described as a “beautiful/emotional wedding – filled with fun, laughter and love.”
Tammi said it was wedding planner Jessica Croser at Narooma Golf Club during one of their planning meetings that suggested she apply for the show.
Australia’s Cheapest Weddings was airing on Monday nights at 8.45pm on Channel 7 but is now taking break and the show and the episode featuring Tammi and Andrew’s wedding will return to Channel 7 later this year.
The series is voiced by Winners & Losers actress Melanie Vallejo and the synopsis described it was such: “Every little girl dreams about getting married but when the time comes not everyone can afford it, or justify the cost. These couples will do anything to prove you can have champagne taste on a beer budget, but low costs can cause high dramas as these brides are pushed to their limit. This is a fun, heart-warming event you’ll definitely want to attend!”
