Narooma Rotary Club president 2015-2016 Bob Antill congratulates the 2016 winner of the Narooma Rotary Tertiary Scholarship Melanie Miller at the Australia Day ceremony this year.

All Narooma High School students who finish Year 12 this year and who want to go on to tertiary education should apply for the Rotary Club of Narooma Tertiary Education Scholarship.

Narooma Rotary president Michael O’Connor said the club makes only one award each year.

“The award is conditional on the successful candidate gaining entry to a full time tertiary course,” he said. “Students who plan to defer are still eligible to apply.”

The scholarship provides the successful candidate with $3000 each year for three years. Payments will be made twice a year provided the awardee continues to satisfy the club that studies are being completed satisfactorily.

Mr O’Connor said applicants will be assessed by the club’s scholarship committee based on several criteria, including evidence of commitment to their chosen field, the student's school assessment and examination performances.

No particular course will be preferred over any other. The Rotary Club president’s decision will be final.

Application forms can be collected from the front desk of Narooma High. Applications must be received by the school by November 25. Interviews will be held Saturday, December 17.
