Shoalhaven PCYC is holding a charity fight night at the Fairy Meadow Fraternity Club on November 26 with proceeds going to support suicide prevention.
Traynor will be boxing against Andy Garden in the 100kg division and has been working on his fitness and skills with Narooma boxing coach and police officer Scott Wharfe.
“We’ve had Gary in training camp for the last few weeks and he’s been showing some good skills for a novice boxer,” Wharfe said.
Traynor has been sparring against fellow Narooma PCYC boxer Jake Jamieson and also Geoff “G Train” Wilson. Jamieson has been training for 12 months now and is being built up to compete in March next year.
Anyone interested in competitive boxing can stop by the PCYC boxing gym at the Narooma Sports and Leisure Centre with training happening first thing in the morning from 5.30am and then also in the evenings. Contact can also be made with Scott Wharfe at the Narooma police station.
Tickets for the Shoalhaven PCYC fight night are $110 each and include a two-course meal and four-hour free drinks package. Contact PCYC police to find out more and buy tickets on 4421 8588.
