The main event was two rounds of 32 targets spread across eight shooting stations, mostly with unlike singles and a set of double targets.
Darren Redman found the targets to his liking, coming in ahead of the field and with only three targets down.
An enthusiastic contingent from Cooma took home most of the prizes in B Grade.
The second event was the George Digweed Challenge with shooters keenly awaiting their turn to shoot increasingly more distant targets and the opportunity to have their name engraved on the perpetual trophy as the person who broke their target furthest from the trap.
There was an option for shooters to buy back into the event twice (each at $5) for those missing their target.
Shooter numbers held up well through 30 metres from the trap (with most targets a further 25 metres or more away) and a few shooters still had not missed.
However the field thinned rapidly as they approached the 40 metre mark and it was club president Nev Brady left standing and securing the coveted title.
The buy back in option from this event amounted to $400 and as last year, will be donated to Bermagui Primary School.
Presentations included the awarding of club Juniors for 2016. These annual awards have been made by the Raabe family to recognise the achievements of club juniors and this year’s highest award was to Holly Gschwend followed by sister Grace and brother Joey.
Presentations were also made to 2016 club champions Dave Bedingfield on handicap, Holly Gschwend in Juniors and Nev Brady on aggregate scores.
Recognition was also given to those who have support the club by sponsoring monthly shoots.
A special thanks also to Mick Cook for trapping during the main event and to Bennys Butchery of Cobargo for preparing the meat trays given as prizes.
