For Narooma Blue Water Dragons this means getting out on the water more often.
In addition to the Saturday mornings paddles, members are now able to take the dragon boat out on Tuesday afternoons and Thursday evenings.
Over the past few weeks it has been great to see an influx of new members – a big welcome to you all.
With three paddling opportunities every week people from all walks of life can have the chance to release their inner dragon and get fit while having fun.
The 20s boat – Kerry J – is back on the water after having some routine maintenance.
Many thanks go to Don and Libby who oversee the maintenance program.
Thanks also to the wooden boat builders at the slipway who assisted with this process and offered the use their shed.
With the 20s boat out of action, it was a great opportunity for paddlers and sweeps to get some practice in the smaller 10s boat.
Windy conditions of late have kept us paddling within the safe confines of Forsters Bay but on Saturday still conditions allowed us to head out the channel, under the bridge and up to Apex Park.
Paddlers commented on how much faster the boat was moving through the water with her beautifully polished hull!
The dragon boat regatta season is in full swing and with many members planning to get competitive in the New Year no doubt you will see us out there over the weeks and months ahead training hard.
If you would like to experience the thrill of dragon boating pop down to the Narooma Blue Water Dragons boat shed (situated next to the Quarterdeck Café) on Saturdays at 8.30am.
The club caters to people of all ages and physical abilities.
The first three paddles are free.
