I would like to thank the driver of the local club’s courtesy bus who stooped to help and call police. Also another Resident came to see what the commotion was. I’d love to extend a thanks to those who attended.

I was disappointed to find the State Government has not adequately staffed the Bermagui police station and police had to leave Narooma leaving its staff short to travel to look for the people who tried to cause a heavy vehicle crash on the bridge.

I sorted myself out and made my way to Narooma where I had previously organised accommodation. I had to get medical attention at Narooma for my eyes as whatever the liquid was had irritated my eyes all night. I suspect Ill need further medical attention this week when my doctor comes back.

Congratulations to the Eurobodalla Show Committee for another great show. Without the tireless effort of all the volunteers of our great community we could not continue to run this fantastic and important event that showcases our rural heritage and the modern aspects of rural living.

The local show is the heart of every rural community and I believe it is more important than ever to ensure the tradition continues and thrives. Special thanks go to the president Bruce Reid and secretary Mary Atkinson and the show committee and volunteers.

Sometimes I wonder if NSW is the nanny state or cunningly the “fine state” as in monetary fines.

Some poor bloke drowned recently rock fishing. Each and everyone of us when doing risky things knows the risks. Yes a calculated risk. So what’s with the cry wear life jackets when rock fishing. I guess the NSW Government has figured out the fine for non-compliance and of course the fine for not having jacket annually inspected or not having it fitted properly .

I hear 16 people drowned over Christmas but not one rock fishing drowned. There were probably a good few who people got neck injuries from diving. What next, neck braces as well as life jackets for all swimmers. The facts are for not wearing life jackets rock fishing apart from my civil liabilities is jackets can more than likely increase the possibility of drowning if washed in off the rocks in some cases.

There is no rogue wave just, unpredictability. The first wave washes you in. You are not washed away from the rocks you usually you bob up down beside the rocks, barnacles and all! More often than not you can be washed up and down the rocks.

When the jacket goes off you have an air-filled plastic bladder that would very quickly be ripped – then you're trying to swim in rain coat . A jacket may bring you up after the first wave if you can find the pull cord. Maybe we all should have swimming bronze medallions, rock-fishing sleeted shoes. Here we go again more fines, more inspectors

I don’t know the answer is, but just leave me out of your regulations. Maybe parachutes for rock climbers?

We had  a short stay at Narooma last week and unfortunately our beautiful vacation was spoiled by the fact that I've lost my wedding ring on the Bar Beach South at Narooma.  It’s a white gold wedding ring with a tiny built-in diamond. The ring itself is quite simple but it is a valuable object for me and my hubby and a lot of memorable moments connected to it.  We would be more than happy if it is found and returned to us. Thank you in advance for your help.
