University of Newcastle medical graduates Dr Georgie Burrough and Dr Georgie Facchetti are both starting work this month as junior doctors for the Hunter New England Health Service.
Dr Burrough graduated from Narooma High School in 2011 and Dr Facchetti, the year before.
Dr Facchetti is starting work in orthopaedics at John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, the largest in NSW, according to her mother Jane, who lives in Central Tilba. Her future direction is probably being a rural GP with either obstetrics or emergency medicine training.
Dr Burrough is starting in general medicine also at the John Hunter Hospital and her career aspirations are being either a GP or a physician.
They both would like to thank Narooma’s Dr Jenny Wray for her continual support over the last six years. They celebrated their accomplishment at their graduation ball in Newcastle late last year.
Dr Facchetti is also very grateful to Central Tilba Public School for giving her a great primary school education, also to the staff of Narooma High School, and to the great Tilba community who are also very supportive and interested in her progress.
“Congratulations girls, well done, what an amazing achievement, we wish you all the best,” Mrs Facchetti said.
