A fond farewell
To all you wonderful people of Narooma and surrounds: I thank you all for helping make my 30 years living in Narooma so happy and fulfilling. How blessed I was to have been part of your community, with friendly people and the most beautiful place on this earth.

I know that I’ve made the right decision in moving to Benalla to be near family; it is a lovely garden city and the people are friendly and welcoming. I am in my new home, still with unpacked boxes etc, but I feel at home. Life has been quite hectic with a grandson’s wedding and family staying here; too many celebrations for this old girl, but the Quota girls know how I like to party!
To all my close friends and the Quota girls, I miss you all; to the organisations I was involved in, the business people I dealt with, Stan at Narooma News and all at Club Narooma, I thank you all for your friendship and support over the years.

Thanks hunters
The Narooma Rescue Squad (VRA) was pleased to receive a donation this week from the South Coast Hunters Club. The Rescue Squad provides assistance to the police and ambulance services at road accidents and cliff rescues. Donations such as this are vital for the squad
We are very grateful for the continuing support we receive from local clubs, organisations and members of the community. It helps us keep our equipment up-to-date and ensure squad members are fully trained and accredited.
It is the third occasion the club has made a donation to the squad. Anyone interested in joining the Squad and learning new skills (such as abseiling, small engine maintenance, chainsaw use and first aid) is welcome to come along to training from 6pm on Wednesdays at 1 Golf Lane, Narooma.
We have a great bunch of members at the moment – young, old; male and female – all with interesting backgrounds, but new members are always welcome. Contact training officer Mal Barry on 0428 525 493.

Beautiful town
Not only is this a beautiful town we live in, but the people are what really make life amazing. My mother passed away recently; the comfort, kind words and support has been overwhelming. Dad (Ken Child) and I cannot thank everyone enough.
Gerard from the "ambos": your help was greatly appreciated. To all Dad’s neighbours and friends: thank you. To all my unbelievable friends, you will never know how much your support has helped. Thank you. To my daughter’s friends and second families, (Chris ,Kathy and all the youngsters): thank you. We do live in an amazing town.

Victoria scare
I had a bit of a scare coming down victoria creek hill when a car in front of me doing 100km/h put an indicator on to turn left and slowed down very quickly. They were obeying the road rules and did not cross the unbroken line, even though there is a huge amount of space to do so.
I suggest that RMS or whoever is responsible for these turn offs – two - one either side of Victoria Creek - rethink breaking the line so that people who live on the old road can pull off the main 100km/h part of the road into a left turn only lane in safety. I would hate to see a pile up due to people following the rules.

‘Climate’ clowns
Coalition clean coal concoctions can’t conceal critical climate change concerns. Yes, a hopeless bunch of clowns!
