Narooma Festival coordinator Sandra Doyle gave flyers to over 50 buskers during her 10 days at Tamworth, and spoke to probably about half of them singing Narooma’s praises as ‘such a beautiful spot, you’ll never want to leave’.

“Buskers at Tamworth come from all over Australia, as well as some from New Zealand and the United States,” she said. “Many seemed genuinely interested in our festival so we’re hoping some do come.”

She said the committee is delighted the Narooma busking festival has now been officially included as an event on the River of Art Festival calendar.

“There’s growing interest and excitement about Narooma’s busking festival with now 28 registered Busking Hot Spots around town,” she said.

“It’s a free event for the community enabling them to hear a range of talented performers from across south eastern NSW, ACT, Victoria and northern NSW, and possibly further afield as a result of our Tamworth invitations.”

The ANBC has grown over the last six years from being held exclusively in Cooma to being a national event this year with regional competitions in Stanthorpe, Noosa and Ballarat, as well as Narooma.

Winners from the regional events will be invited to compete in the National Grand Final in Cooma in November.
