ArtWorks is a comprehensive one-day seminar focusing on the business side of arts and is being held at Club Narooma. This seminar is ideal for individual creative practitioners as well as anyone working and volunteering in arts organisations and festival committees.
“Sometimes artists or arts organisations feel stifled by the necessary business side of what they do. ArtWorks will provide some of the essential skills and tools to help brush away the business cobwebs,” South East Arts general manager Andrew Gray said.
“We’ve gathered some great presenters for this event and have tried to cover as much as we can in a single day. South East Arts and Eurobodalla Shire Council is subsidising the cost of the event, to make sure that the cost of attending is within reach of as many people as possible.”
Topics that will be covered at ArtWorks include Top Ten Tips for Creative Business; Copyright and Social Media; Social Media tips, Public Events and Your Local Council; Connecting with the Aboriginal Community; Governance for Arts Organisations; Funding; Media Engagement and more.
There is a roundtable discussion with creative business expert Monica Davidson brought to the region by BusinessConnect and the opportunity for individual sessions with the Arts Law Centre – the national community legal centre for the arts.
