Man returns high range drink drive reading of .222

A 46-year-old man found slumped over the steering wheel of his car east of Nowra on Monday night has returned breath reading more than four times the legal limit.

Around 9pm police noticed the stationary car on the side of Greenwell Point Road at Pyree.

Officers approached the vehicle and found the man slumped over the steering wheel asleep.

A roadside breath test returned a positive result.

The driver was then taken to Nowra police station.

A breath analysis conducted there returned a high range reading of 0.222.

The man’s licence was confiscated and he was suspended from driving.
