Over 70 women, and one brave man, explored options for healthy living at Quota’s Women’s Health and Wellbeing Day on Saturday, March 25.

Presenter Julie Griffin, from Community Health, said she could feel the positive energy as soon as she walked in the room. She gave the participants tips on healthy eating and lifestyle changes that would help guard against medical conditions such as diabetes.
Michelle Chittey led the audience in a Tai Chi session, followed by graceful demonstrations of Tai Chi sword and Tai Chi baton.
Nancy Casu, a YMCA personal trainer, focussed on posture and balance in her session. There were lots of laughs as she had the audience marching and tapping to the Proclaimers’ song: “I would Walk 500 Miles.” Maree Grayson, from Sundew Dynamics, finished off the day with meditation regimes to help relieve stress.
The food technology students from Narooma High School, prepared a delicious healthy lunch for the guests.
Quota president Bronwyn Roll said the event coincided with Quota Cares month, and provided a unique opportunity for letting people know what Quota does in the community, as well as providing women with an enjoyable social get-together.
“I feel very proud of our organisation for putting on an event of this nature. I think everyone who attended had a fantastic time,” Mrs Roll said.
