Detective from the Far South Coast LAC are considering all lines of inquiry as they piece together Mr Collins’ movements after he was last seen at the Catalina Country Club on the evening of Friday, April 14.
The 37-year-old’s body was found in Joes Creek, Batehaven, by a passerby on the morning of Tuesday, April 18.
Officers, with the help of Batemans Bay SES volunteers, retrieved his body from the water shortly after.
Prior to a post-mortem examination, police said there was nothing “obviously suspicious” surrounding Mr Collins’ death.
He was last seen wearing a dark-coloured jumper over a darker-coloured collared shirt, sand-coloured pants and light brown shoes.
Police have described him as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, of medium build, with light brown hair, with a receding hairline; and blue eyes.
They are appealing for information from the public to help establish the cause of death. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
