5.30pm: Emergency services attending the accident have said a person has died. The crash occurred 100 metres north of the Trunkatabella bridge.
4.50pm: NSW Ambulance said one person had sustained possible spinal injuries and was trapped in the vehicle. Another patient had freed themselves.
4.34pm: Police confirm one person is trapped after a two-car accident. The highway remains closed in both directions and southbound traffic was stopped at Smarts Bridge. Police said traffic was backed up for more than a kilometer north of Trunkatabella Bridge. Police also said a rescue helicopter had been sent to the scene. The VRA has sent its Narooma crew.
4.20pm: One person has been left trapped after a two-car accident on the Princes Highway near Bodalla.
An emergency services spokesperson said the collision occurred about 4pm on Thursday, April 27.
NSW Ambulance said paramedics were treating two patients, one with lower limb injuries and another who is yet to be freed.
Both lanes of the highway have been closed.
Police are in attendance, as well as RFS crews from Bodalla and Tuross Head.
