Earlier on Friday afternoon, a group of Sydney food writers and tourism officials were flown into Narooma on on local identity and Glasshouse Rocks farm owner Justin Hemmes’ seaplane.
Pilot Jon Davies of the Merivale Group said along the way he landed on the Shoalhaven River to pick up chef Dave Campbell of the Wharf Road restaurant in Nowra, who brought with him some local sparkling wine and a taster box of three different oysters.
The 12-seater Cessna Caravan then overflew the Coolangatta Estate where the wine was from as well as flying over the oyster leases on the Shoalhaven, Greenwell Point and Clyde River, so the passengers could see where the produce they were tasting came from.
