This is what has driven the residents and staff to host the Biggest Morning Tea for the past two years.

“Between the residents, their family and the staff there's no one that isn't touched by the cancer journey,” Estia Dalmeny executive director Loretta Creevey said.

“We normally have around 200 people between the residents and their families.”

This year they’re upping the ante with a family fun day hosted alongside the fundraising event.

"We’re all madly preparing,” Ms Creevey said.

From 10am to 2pm on Saturday May 13 Estia Dalmeny’s door will be open to the community.

A marketplace atmosphere with lots of free entertainment will keep the entire family busy for the day.

The day aims to bring the community together while raising money for a good cause.

Entry on the day is free along with a sausage sizzle.

“We want to get the community involved and give back to the community,” Ms Creevey said.

A small donation is required for the Biggest Morning Tea.

For $10 a toasted sandwich, tea, coffee, scones and cake is provided and the chance to win a laptop as the lucky door prize.

Narooma’s Jess Bourke will share her inspirational story of her own personal experience with cancer as part of the event.

Raising money for the Cancer Council is something the residents and staff are passionate about.

“It’s the number one charity voted for by our residents,” Ms Creevey said.

“We want to make sure the money raised goes to a worthy cause.”

While raising money for the Cancer Council is important to the residents and staff, bringing the community together is just as important.

Family and community are strong values at Estia Dalmeny for residents and staff alike.

The family fun day is a way for the residents and staff to further connect with the local community.

Residents are all from the region including Bodalla, Moruya and Bega.

“This is our way of supporting the community,” Ms Creevey said.

Estia Dalmeny is a 115 bed aged care facility with stunning ocean views and landscaped gardens.

“What makes Estia Dalmeny so amazing is our beautiful views of the beach,” Ms Creevey said.

“The holiday sea culture is strong.”

The facility is located at 25 to 29 Noble Parade and the largest employer in the region with 120 people employed.
