Narooma Flames played the Broulee Bombs on Saturday afternoon. After the first quarter the Flames were behind however by halftime they turned it around to 15-9 lead which was a true testament to the girls improved performance and synergy as a team.
The girls had found their 'flow' with strong forward passes, spreading out across the court, great set plays and great defence skills when needed. The Flames continued to extend their lead in the third and final quarters to finish with a 32-20 victory. Well done The Flames!
Piper and Emily's team the Narooma Shooting Stars played the Narooma Seahorses. The Shooting Stars are a couple of years younger than the other team but were still able to get a few goals in. Topaz was team captain this week and took home a voucher for the ice cream shop.
Each week the captain received an ice-cream voucher with Emily taking the reins in round 1 and Lily the captain in round 2. The girls are enjoying eating a Tim Tam after each game.....We don't know what's more enjoyable....the game or the Tim Tam afterwards! We are really proud of the girls’ efforts at training and in Broulee on Saturday mornings. Keep having fun girls!
After much defensive practice at training last week, the Comets were fired up for their game against the physically bigger Surging Waves.
Heidi had a cracker of a game, really annoying her opponent under the net. Her defence in her third ever game was fantastic. As ever, Leah, Grace and Brodie were reliable under the net, with Brodie gathering in some great rebounds. Unfortunately our girls went down 25-12, but are improving by the week.
The Narooma Nightmares had a bye.
