The Whalers team were regrettably a little under strength due to some injury and absent players, but fought the game out gamely against a much fitter and stronger Lions outfit.
The younger brigade at the Lions showed the way with plenty of possessions as the club recorded is fourth straight victory to have it sitting nicely on top of the ladder after four games - .first time in this position and best start of the season for many years.
Eden are doing it tough at the moment but we are sure they will turn it around in the near future. Final scores; 25-13-163 to 6-7-43. A good win to the lions.
Our reserves team claimed the forfeit over Moruya/Broulee and also currently sit top of the table . The women had a great win over Bega Bombers .
With several key players out the girls showed real grit to grind out a hard fought win against an improving Bega side. Rachel Kincaid started for the Lions booting seven goals.
The Lions switched the side around to give all the girls a bit of variety and they all excelled. The last quarter was a real team effort to shut down any chance of a Bega revival. final scores; 11-8-74 to 2-1-13. Narooma Women all sit nicely on top of the table.
Currently all the seniors sides (seniors/reserves/women’s) are all in good shape and on top of the ladder in all grades – a first for the club ever! Lions need to continue to focus on the next games to keep up the good work
