Bridge accidents – Two accidents occurred just north of the Narooma Bridge in the past week. At 7.50pm on Saturday, a vehicle travelling north on the Princes Highway at Centenary Drive failed to negotiate the left hand bend when the driver accelerated causing the rear of the vehicle slid out in an easterly direction. The vehicle collided with the western embankment causing it to flip onto its roof. Three persons were in the vehicle, one of whom was conveyed to Moruya Hospital. Inquiries continue.

Then at 5.45am on Thursday, a 47-year-old male driver was travelling north when traffic stopped in the vicinity of the Centenary Drive turn-off. He was unable to stop in time, swerved around the vehicle ahead into the southbound lane colliding with an oncoming vehicle. He was uninjured but the driver of the southbound vehicle sustained head and chest impact injuries and was conveyed to Moruya Hospital. Inquiries continue.
Theft arrest – At 2.50pm last Tuesday, a person was seen stealing a 49-inch television from the rear dock of a electrical retail shop on the Narooma Flat. Police using CCTV footage identified a 25-year-old Narooma man known to them, who was spotted on the Princes Highway, Narooma at 8am on Sunday. He was searched and allegedly found to have three small amounts of cannabis leaf and prescription medication. He was charged with drug and stealing offences.
Preschool damage – Sometime between 4.30pm Friday and 7am Monday, unknown persons have jumped the fence at the Narooma preschool, causing damage to a sandpit cover. Police are following up with inquiries as to a number of youths seen in the area at those times. Any information to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Narooma police on 4476 2044.
Warrants arrest – Police attended a Dalmeny address at 10.55am on Monday where a 33-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants relating to traffic offences and domestic violence.
Cannabis charges – Police attended a premises on the Princes Highway, Narooma at 1am on Sunday seeking a wanted person. Police located 8 grams of cannabis leaf and issued a 47-year-old Narooma man a court attendance notice for possessing prohibited drugs and utensils.
At 7.15pm last Wednesday, police spoke to and searched the vehicle of a 43-year-old man in the Dalmeny area locating 10 grams of cannabis leaf. He was issued a court attendance notice for possessing a prohibited drug.
Then at 12.30am on Sunday, a 21-year-old Narooma woman was searched in a car park in Narooma where she was found with a water pipe and small scissors. She was issued a court attendance notice for possessing utensils.
Finally, at 4.30pm on Monday, a 59-year-old man stopped in Narooma was also issued a court attendance notice for possession after police found 4 grams of cannabis in his vehicle. He was driving a motor vehicle on Burrawang Street at the time when the drugs were located during a search. The drugs consisted of three small foil packages of alleged to be cannabis.
Derelict caravan – A 30-year-old man was stopped on the Princes Highway, Narooma at 5.40pm on Sunday towing a derelict caravan. Inquiries continue.
