There were over 1000 entries in the draw and Sectional Matches started on Sunday, June 10.
Jay progressed through the sections and then started his run in the knockout play on Saturday, June 17. He won his three matches on Saturday defeating top class bowlers, Marty Rogers from NSW, Toby Wight from Mermaid Beach in Qld and Jarrad O'Donohoe from WA.
This put Jay into the round of 32 on Sunday morning where he beat Michael Nagy from Taren Point and then in the afternoon he beat top Qld Junior Dale Shillington.
Jay has now reached the quarterfinals where he will meet World Fours Champion Wayne Ruediger from South Australia. What a great achievement from a local who turns 20 next month.
We wish you all the best Jay, only three matches to go!
