“The Buddy Bench is for when maybe there are new kids or kids who don’t have anyone to play with or when their buddies are away, they come and sit on the Buddy Bench and then people who are walking by, they come and invite them to play or maybe when someone else doesn’t have anyone to play with, they will come and invite them to sit and then they will go and play together,” one of the school’s captains Ruby Moore said.
Fellow captain Heidi Manning said, “ And if anyone sees anyone sitting alone on the Buddy Beach and is walking past with your friends and then invite to come and play whatever you are playing.”
P&C president Jenny Owens-Roberts said she was most grateful for the donation and the benches should improve the school lives of students, particularly those feeling left out.
