Cannabis crop – Far South Coast police have seized 26 cannabis plants during a raid on a Narooma house on Wednesday, July 12. A police spokesperson said officers executed a search warrant on a house on Field Street at about midday. Inside, police located a hydroponic setup with 11 large and 15 small cannabis plants. Police dismantled the setup and seized the plants, along with 58g of cannabis. Police said the operation was a “significant bust”, with each plant having a street value of up to $2000. Officers also seized property believed to be stolen. Enquiries are continuing.

Oysters stolen – Between Monday, June 26 and Wednesday, July 12, unknown persons stole 300 oyster containers from leases on Wagonga Inlet each containing up to seven dozen oysters. Police are hoping someone saw something.
Cow struck – The Tilba RFS unit and police responded when a car struck a cow on the Princes Highway at Central Tilba on Tuesday evening, July 11. The vehicle involved sustained serious damage.
Car burned – A silver Mazda 323 stolen from Harrington Street, Narooma between 10am and 10.30pm on Sunday, July 16 was found burned out at Handkerchief Beach on Monday.
Offensive conduct – Police were called to the Narooma Plaza to deal with a man shouting and acting aggressively at 4pm on Monday, July 10. He was then reported to be near the Ambulance station and then located near the Kinema. The 21-year-old man was transported home to Bodalla and issued with a court notice for offensive conduct and language.
Recovered laptop – A laptop computer found at a Wallaga Lake caravan park was found to have been stolen in Bega.
Suspicious activity – Police stopped to speak to a man acting suspiciously while walking along the Princes Highway, Narooma at 11am on Thursday, July 13. A screwdriver and an ice pipe he allegedly threw into bushes were recovered and police issued him a warning in relation to these items.
Unlicenced, unregistered – An 18-year-old female was found to be driving an unlicensed and unregistered vehicle on Umbarra Road, Wallaga Lake at 1.30pm on Friday, July 14 and issued a court notice for these traffic offences.
Repeat offender – A 47-year-old long-term disqualified driver was seen driving along McMillan Road, Narooma at 11am on Monday, July 17. She was given a notice to attend Narooma court.
