Snakes, ladders and champers

MONDAY saw 27 women gather, in cold and blustery conditions, for a light hearted day of Snakes and Ladders followed by scones and champagne for the Narooma Women’s Golf Club Minor Presentation Day.

Lorraine McCarthy climbed the highest “ladder” scoring 5832 points with Chris Fader coming in second with 2592.

Tina Wilson unfortunately slid down the longest “snake” losing 148 points in one go.

We were pleased to have patron, Joan Michaels, as well as Annette Burke, Shirley Dent and Nola Tee join us in celebrating the year’s achievements.  Sylvia Donohoe dominated the proceedings, winning many of the seasons events, with other prizes liberally scattered among the playing group.

What a contrast in weather on Wednesday as the ladies played Par while Marg Bennett and Kay Lawrence fought out the 18 hole stroke playoff for Gold Medal having tied the previous week.  Marg prevailed and our warmest congratulations go to her and commiserations to Kay.  All the ladies reaching the final are to be congratulated for their efforts during the year.

In the day’s competition in 2 divisions, Marg also won Division 1 with +5 and Di Williamson was close behind with +4.  In Division 2, Marg Spong won with +4 and Christine Galbraith with +2 was runner up and it’s good to see Christine back in the winner’s circle.
