THE Bermagui netball team travelled to Sydney to watch the Australian Diamonds and Silver Ferns play on Sunday, October 21 at Allphones Arena.
The committee had organised a bus to take 60 members consisting of mums, daughters, families and one dad to Sydney for a great experience for our junior members to watch the Diamonds.
The bus left at 6.30am on Saturday morning and had accommodation booked at the YHA in the Rocks for Saturday night. Members were able to explore the sights of Sydney on Saturday afternoon and then Sunday morning were picked up by bus to be taken to Allphones Arena.
The members were able to watch the Diamonds score a record win by defeating the Silver Ferns by 20 goals. This was a memorable weekend for our junior players to watch the best in action and with local hero Susan Pratley selected to take the court was a special occasion as Susan has participated in clinics in Bermagui in the past.
A big thank you to all committee members who made this happen, a special mention to Sharon Holdsworth and Trudy Needs who arranged most of the weekend.
