RENEE Jenkins, personal trainer is running regular boot camp sessions every Tuesday and Thursday at 9.30am at NATA oval. Anyone can attend, you don't have to have children to enjoy the group.
Renee works together with Anita Macartney, Project Officer for a Families NSW program delivered by Campbell Page. Anita contacted Renee earlier this year to do some fitness sessions at Narooma parents group, Tiny Teddies. Renee then recognised a need for a regular fitness group where small children could also attend as it is difficult to find care for small ones - Renee has three of her own and knows how difficult this can be.
Renee contacted Anita and discussed whether this regular group would fit in with Campbell Page's Community Capacity Building Program which is a service that supports families with children 0-8 within the local community.
This program provides assistance to families through facilitating a wide range of local activities that include workshops, training sessions, community events and groups to meet the identified needs of each community.
Kicking off in June, this group has gone from strength to strength, with up to 11 mums attending each week. Anita joins the group each week with the focus of entertaining the children with ball games while the mums are put through their paces by Renee.
It's been wonderful seeing the children's friendships form and develop.
With Spring now here - come down and say hello - $10 per session payable to Renee.
