Bermagui CWA
The Country Women’s Association is a service organisation and as such fundraising for both local and state causes is an important part of our role.
This year Bermagui and District CWA has made generous donations to the Bermagui Public School, Ronald Mcdonald House at Westmead Hospital and the CWA of NSW Emergency Fund. During July, the Bermagui Ladies held two successful fundraisers Bake for Babies (in support of Newborn Intensive Care Foundation) and a Soup and Trivia Afternoon (in support of Lyme research). These activities enable members to help others while enjoying the company and friendship of like-minded women.
The August meeting featured a guest speaker Catherine Coman from Bega. Catherine explained how she has developed her own online business, "Boonlell Bags". Catherine brought a selection of her beautiful hand crafted bags for the ladies to peruse.
The major date claimer for August will be the Far South Coast CWA, Inter-branch Music, Drama and International Day to be held on Monday, August 21 at the Cobargo School of Arts. Branches are busy rehearsing for this day of fun-filled activities.
