TONY Bailey was out for a morning walk at around 5.50am on Saturday morning when he came across a kangaroo at the end of the southern break wall at the Narooma bar.
“I don't know if I spooked him, because he hopped straight past me back to the bend in the wall and then proceeded to jump down the rocks into the water,” Tony said.
“He swam against an incoming tide that carried him across to the inner wall, where he attempted a couple of times to climb out of the water.
“He did get out successfully, so I ran back to my car and drove around to Bar Beach car park to ensure he was safe, and to my surprise I found him hopping down the dirt road safe but just a little wet.”
“Not something you see every day!”
