Katungul Aboriginal Corporation Community and Medical Services won both the Excellence in Business award and was also voted People’s Choice winner by the community.
Congratulations to the board and outstanding staff for winning the award of Excellence in Business and a big thank-you to the community for supporting us to win People's Choice,” Katungul CEO Rob Skeen said.
Winning the Eurobodalla Shire’s best Chamber of Commerce Award meanwhile has been a huge lift for everyone involved with Narooma Chamber of Commerce and Narooma Oyster Festival.
“Our win was partly due to re-establishing Narooma Oyster Festival and our extensive marketing and PR efforts to promote Narooma as a destination,” Chamber spokesman Adrian Fisse said.
“Successfully re-establishing the Oyster Festival was the chamber’s key initiative over the past year.
“It’s been a tough two years on the committee, all volunteers, but the festival is now recognised as a quality regional event.
“The brand is synonymous with delicious oysters, natural clean quality regional food and Narooma being a great place to visit.
Mr Fisse also congratulated Tilba Lake House for winning the People's Choice award in the Tilba region.
People were already buying tickets for next year’s Narooma Oyster Festival on May 5, he said.
Narooma Chamber has many new initiatives underway to boost local business, he said.
For example, all business people are invited to Narooma’s first Business Buzz at Club Narooma on Tuesday, September 5 at 7pm.
“It’s a chance to meet other local business people and find out about their businesses,” Mr Fisse said.
“It will include speed briefing, a bit like speed dating, and be a lot of fun.”
There will also be a presentation on “economic gardening”. More details closer to the event.
