ALEX Byard hosted a Pink Breakfast on Friday morning at Little Joe's Woodfired Pizza at Narooma to raise funds for breast cancer research.
"It was a huge success raising $1225 on the day, and add online donations and the total raised came to $1590,” Alex said.
“This would not have been possible without the generous support of local businesses in the supply of both food items and goods to raffle.”
She thanked Sugar Pie for the awesome “boobie cakes”, IGA Narooma, Southfield Cellars, NarPrint, Woolworths, Greshell's Hair Design, Narooma Plaza Pharmacy, Narooma Newsagency, Narooma Pharmacy, Mitre 10, Salon Kate, That Garden Centre, Sue-Ellen Misfield, The Pain Relief Clinic, Funky Fadz and Bruce Day.
“Also thanks go to friends, family and staff for their help in organising and running the breakfast.
“Val and David Byard for all their behind the scenes help and looking after our son Joe, Tony Colom-Mayol for cooking, Elsa Dawson for her tireless efforts and the donation of prizes, and Kate Bourke for surprising me by bringing my mother in from the nursing home so that she too could be a part of the morning.
“Finally thank you to all those who joined us for breaky and donated online, it’s your generosity that has made all the effort for this important cause worthwhile.
“Lastly, to my husband, Wayne, for not saying no and for embracing the whole ‘pink’ theme. You continue to surprise me and make me smile every day.”
