THURSDAY 14th SEPTEMBER: A field of 117 players faced windy conditions but favorable greens because of coring and sanding with a resultant consistent DSR of 71. In A Grade Mitch Jeffery scored an excellent 42 points off a handicap of 9, one point ahead of Justin Bennett, while Brett Thompson took third position with 40 points on countback from Dane Price of Port Kembla. Bernie Krueger continued his good form to register the best score of the day with 43 points off his handicap of 19 to win B Grade by four points from Mike Shevlin and Lloyd McLachlan. In C Grade Jim Young was also a clear winner with 42 points off his handicap of 28 , followed by a three-way countback on 39 points with John Willett taking second place ahead of Terry Pickles with Tony Hunt missing out. The nearest-the-pin winners were Scott Kerr on 3, Paul Stokes on 9, Dane Price on 14 and Terry O'Callaghan on 17, while the ball competition went to all on 35 points.
SATURDAY 16th SEPTEMBER: Only 113 players took to the course for the second round of the President's Trophy where variable weather conditions did not deter good scoring, with the DSR emerging at 72/71. In A Grade John Boyle from Tathra scored 42 points off a handicap of 7 to win easily from Greg Riley with 37 points, while Marty Brooker took third place with 35 points on countback from Peter Concannon from Queanbeyan and Richard Goodridge. In B Grade Michael Commins at last scored a victory with 41 points off a handicap of 14 to head Chris Eardley by one points. Robert Ackling filled the third position witjh 38 points on countback from Ron Weller from South West Rocks and Graham Small. Peter Elliott registered the best score of the day with 44 points off a handicap of 21 for a clear victory in C Grade. Trevor Breust scored 40 points and Robbie Brown took third place with 39 points on countback from Mark Falconer, Alan Chisholm and Stewart Murray. The nearest-the-pin winners were Jim Grant on 3, Mark Falconer on 9, Bill Durnan on 14 and Jason Andrew on 17, while the ball competition went down to 33 points with 18 home.
Narooma Ladies
Narooma Golf Course was closed on Monday and Tuesday this week to carry out the coring of the greens. Wednesday 13th September was a Stableford competition. The winner of Division 1 was M. Brooks with 39 points and the runner up was K. Lawrence with 38 points. Division 2 was won by C. Hendra with 41 points and the runner up was T. James with 37 points. The Nearest the Pins this week no one managed to get on the 3rd green in Division 1. On the 9th hole the winner was M. Bennett for Division 2 and on the 14th hole for Division 3 P. Barron was the winner. Balls went 34 on a count back.
Bermagui Country Club
Results for Thursday 14th September, 66 players enjoyed a Stableford event. The A grade winner was Nathan Batten (hcp -1) with a score of 35 points. The runner up was James Thomson (hcp 14) on 34. Then came Neil Rutherford (hcp 8) on 33. In B grade the win went to Graeme Struthers (hcp 19) with 38 points. Then came Nick Stolk (hcp 19) on 37 and Dave Cole (hcp 19) on 35. Rob Cattanach (hcp 22) showed good form to win C grade with 35 then we had Ray Cullen (hcp 22) on 34 and Jochen Adam (hcp 23) on 33. NTP’s 6 th Ron Lye, 8 th Nathan Batten, 11 th Bob Paine & 15 th Graeme Struthers.
Results for Saturday 16th September 2017: 26 players from Bermagui travelled to Bega Golf Club for the final round of the Bega vs Bermagui Shield. It was a 4BBB competition and the best 9 scores were taken. Bermagui went into the day ahead but after the results were tallied at Bega we missed out by the narrowest of margins. One point separated us after the 2 rounds with Bega on 750 points and Bermagui on 749. The best score on the day was returned by Bermagui’s Noel Haase and Bill Tyson who had 43 points.
Club News: The Bermagui Week of Golf commenced on the 16 th September and the Men’s Open will be held over the weekend of 23rd 24th September. There are competitions with prizes, and fun in the clubhouse every day of the week. Details available at the pro shop or on the Bermagui Country Club website. Bermagui Legends Pro-Am. Here is your opportunity to play with a PGA Legend. On Monday 23rd October and Tuesday 24th October Bermagui will be hosting a round of the PGA Legends Tour. Shotgun starts on both days. Bermagui Social Golfers
Last Sunday we travelled to Tuross Head Golf Course on our bus where the weather was wonderful and despite the lack of rain the course was in top nick. The winning team was Shane Grebert, Roy Sthruthers, Michael Brown, and Charlie Bennett who also was the bus driver and chief cook. Thank you to the cooks for BBQ of the wonderful sausages and steak supplied by Zak Needs Bermagui Butchery for lunch. The music and chatter on the way home showed everybody enjoyed the day. Kiwi won the right to mop the bus Monday morning due to his clumsiness Thanks to our sponsors the Bermagui Beach Hotel, Bermagui Pizza, Triple 7, and Needs Butchery.
Next Sunday we will be playing at Tathra Golf Course and challenging Eden, and Bega social golf clubs for the Tri Nations Trophy. Golfers of any standard are welcome most Sundays at 9am at the Bermagui Golf Club.

On Saturday we had a good field of ladies playing in the stableford. NTP Brenda Whiffen. Winner Pat Jones with 37 pts. Runner up Bev Tyson 34 pts. Balls to Trady Howarth 33 pts, Audrey Cook 33 pts and Brenda Whiffen 30 pts.
On Wednesday we played another stableford. NTP 8th and 11th Maggie Hayes. Div. 1. Winner Maggie Hayes 37 pts. Runner up Lesley Ashton 36 pts. Balls to Barb Stolk 34 pts, Audrey Cook 32 pts and Brenda Whiffen 31 pts. Div. 2. Winner Wendy Chaplin 34 pts. Runner-up Vicki Hummel 34 pts. Balls to Pam Cowderoy 32 pts, Mary Mihailidis 32 pts and Irene Putaansuu 29 pts.
