Police and volunteer firefighters attended a small scrub fire on the Woodlands headland off Flying Fox Road, Narooma at 1pm on Tuesday, October 10.
The fire was thought to have started from the remains of a campfire. Locals and visitors are discouraged from lighting campfires in the bush.
Plaza security – A number of young people have been hanging around the old laundromat area at the Narooma Plaza after dark, making a mess and causing damage, including breaking windows.
Security in the area will be improved and police will conduct extra patrols. Anybody who sees suspicious activity should contact Narooma police on 4476 2044 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Positive test – A 30-year-old local man stopped while driving on Dalmeny Drive at 4.30pm on Sunday, October 15 failed a roadside drug test.
His licence was suspended for 24 hours and awaits the results of further testing.
Unregistered trailer – A 42-year-old man caught towing an unregistered trailer on the Princes Highway, Narooma at 6pm on Thursday, October 12 was given an infringement notice for the traffic offence.
Firecracker investigation – Police were notified of firecrackers being let off in a Narooma licenced premises at 9pm on Thursday, October 12. A 29-year-old man was questioned regarding the incident and police investigations continue.
iPhone handed in – Police are hoping to identify the owner of an iPhone handed in to them at the Narooma police station on Sunday, October 15.
