A Far South Coast man wanted in the United States on an alleged child pornography offence will face an extradition hearing in Batemans Bay next year.

Kevin James Burrows, 67, of Millingandi, who has been in custody since his arrest on November 6, did not appear when his matter was mentioned in Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday, November 20.
Magistrate Doug Dick said Burrows would oppose the extradition, which would go to a hearing in February 2018.
“Mr Burrows is not consenting or waiving the extradition,” Mr Dick said.
The hearing will determine if Burrows will be extradited to the US, from where police allege he fled in 2013.
Police said Burrows was residing in Hedgesville, West Virginia, when the US Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force alleged he possessed a large amount of child pornography.
Authorities said Burrows left the country after an arrest warrant was issued, and was understood to have left behind a wife, two children and a job.
A bail application is expected to be made at the hearing on February 23, 2018, when Burrows is expected to appear in person at Batemans Bay Local Court.
