A smaller field of 113 players faced very cool conditions where the DSR emerged as a consistent 72.
A Grade resulted in a three-way countback on 37 points and Brett Thompson, off a handicap of 9, came out on top over Bill Hannam and Shaun Martyn.
B Grade was taken out by Andrew Vormeulen with the best score of the day of 41 points off a handicap of 17. Gordon Roberts filled second place with 38 points while Ian Miller took the third placing with 37 points on a countback from Warick Minett.
In C Grade Graham Mumme prevailed with 38 points off his handicap of 23, two better than Alex Gardner and three better than John Murray who headed Ted Poczyhajlo on countback.
The nearest-the-pin winners were Greg Riley on 3, John Breust on 9, Graham Cron from catalina on 14 and Terry O'Callaghan on 17, while the ball competition went down to all on 33 points.
SATURDAY 14th JULY:
A field of 108 players teed off in the final qualifying round for the Captain's Trophy where the DSR emerged at 71/72 and the highlight was Matt Corbett's albatross on the 5th where he holed his second shot, a two-iron, from some considerable distance out.
In A Grade Jim Grant posted the best score of the day with 68 net off his handicap of 13, followed by Michael Wuttke-Hayes on 69 and Brett Thompson on 72.
In B Grade Chris Eardley finished on top with 70 net off his handicap of 18, one better than Graham Small, while Callum Annand headed Peter James and Garry Ebbeling to take third place on countback with 72 net.
John Hasler led C Grade with 71 net off his handicap of 24, followed by four players on 72. Geoff Broadfoot and Alex Gardner filled the minor places with Tony Reid and Richard Bodell missing out.
The nearest-the-pin winners were Scott Kennedy on 3, Ian Hamilton on 9, Robert Ackling on 14 and Trevor Breust on 17, while the ball competition went down to all on 75 net.
After the final qualifying round the draw has been made for the match play Captain's Trophy with the first round to be played before 26th August.
Top qualifier Dennis Fry will play Club President Geoff Lanham, as will Geoff Broadfoot against Terry O'Callaghan.
Further matches are Bob Piper against Peter James, Alex Gardner against Jason Andrew, Brett Thompson versus Peter Elliott, Richard Bodell versus Kevin Seamons, Kevin Mitchell against Garry Ebbeling and finally Andrew Vormeulen versus Mike Shevlin.
SUNDAY, 15th JULY:
A very good medley field of 40 played in the Terry Gibbons Trophy where the DSR emerged at a surprising 71 considering the excellent scores.
Judy Anderson took out the trophy with 46 points followed by Rod Walker on 44 and Stewart Murray on 42 points. T
he only nearest-the pin registered was Sylvia Donohoe's on the 17th and the balls went down to 34 points.
Narooma Ladies
Monday 9th July was a Yellow Course Stableford Competition and Jan Boxsell was the winner with 39 points ocb from Dorelle Monteith. Balls went to 38 points.
On Wednesday 11th July the Ladies played in the Keno 4BBB vs Par Competition.
The winners were Dorelle Monteith and Judy Anderson with a score of +8 and the Runners Up with a score of +7 were Jan Boxsell and Tracey Mitchell. Balls went to +4.
The winners and runners up will play in a regional playoff in Mollymook in September and if successful, will proceed to the finals in Bonville later in the year.
Last weekend some of our Ladies travelled to Merimbula to play in the Pambula/Merimbula Ladies Open Tournament.
Sylvia Donohoe was Runner Up in the Saturday Division 1 Stableford Competition with 32 points and on Sunday Judy Anderson was Runner Up in Division 3 in the Stroke Competition with Nett 76.
Chris Fader won the Golden Hole on Sunday and Sylvia won a prize in the Raffle on both Saturday and Sunday.
We all had a great time despite the very cold and windy conditions at times.

Results for Thursday, July 12, Par:
A countback decided the top spot in A grade today which went to Derek Nash (hcp 15) edging Paul Revill (hcp 13) to runner up both scoring plus 3.
Then followed Mick Carr (hcp 13) square with the card.
Ray Cullen (hcp 21) put in a great performance to win B grade with a best score of the day plus 5. Bill Tyson (hcp 21) was runner up on plus 2, then followed Paul Rumble (hcp 18) with plus 1.
The C grade win went to Martin Fowler (hcp 22) scoring plus 1. Then followed Mick Smith (hcp 29) square with the card and James Bryan (hcp 30) on minus 1.
An Eagle was landed on the par 5 eighteenth hole by Allen Sherlock.
Results for Saturday, July 14, Stableford:
The A grade winner today was Paul Batten (hcp 16) scoring 37 points and runner up was Neil Rutherford (hcp 12) with 36 points.
The B grade winner was Bill McKinn (hcp 19) with a best of the day 39 points shading Ross Simpson (hcp 21) on 37 points.
Ron Lye (hcp 25) enjoyed his C grade outing with a 31-point win. Runner up was Santiago Valle (hcp 28) on 30.
Club News: The Far South Coast Vets will play at Bermagui on Friday 27th July.
The 1st round of the Narmorgui will be played at Moruya Golf Club on Sunday 29th July.
