Eurobodalla Mayor Lindsay Brown accepted Mr Anderson’s resignation and praised his contribution during his 4 and half years as General Manger. “I am genuinely sad to see Paul move on as I was looking forward to working with him during my 4 year term. But at the same time, I recognise this is an outstanding career progression for him to a much bigger council and I wish him the best for the future. It is very much our loss and Gosford’s gain. Paul was brought in to bring our council back into a strong financial position and he has achieved that, and much more” said Clr Brown.
Mr Anderson described the highlights of his time as general manager as including the significant amount of capital works that have taken place in a constrained budget environment and the benefits the community has and will see from this in the future. “I’m also proud that I’m leaving council’s finances in a much healthier position than when I started” said Mr Anderson.
Mr Anderson expressed his thanks to his executive team, Directors Warren Sharpe, Lindsay Usher and Kerry Foster and also the previous Directors, Peter McLaughlin and Cherie Enders. “I could not have achieved the valuable change that was required without their constant support, professionalism and dedication”, said Mr Anderson
In summing up Mr Anderson said he would remember his time at Eurobodalla Shire Council for the friendships and fantastic staff he was able to work with and said. “I’ve worked at quite a few councils and you would not find a better group of staff than at Eurobodalla. They serve their community proudly and are always keen to work hard, do their best and help wherever they can”.
When Mr Anderson moves to Gosford City Council he will manage approximately 1200 staff. The council area has a population of around 166,000.
