A field of 76 local and visiting shooters participated, travelling from Cooma, Mudgee, Geelong, Bega, Majura Park, Canberra International, Sydney, Ardlethan, Temora and a bus load from Dubbo.
The setup crew had done a marvellous job of setting up the course of two ranges that challenged even the State's top shots and scores generally reflected the difficulty of some of the more distant downward target trajectories. Conditions were perfect for shooting and the shoot ran like clockwork, thanks to the efforts of club stalwarts Barbie and Mario Magrin, Michelle and Phil Craig, Shirl and Nev Brady and to club members John Hine, Pat Jubb, Daryll Newman and Bret Wills who all gave up their days shooting to trap on the day. This is quite a sacrifice from members of a club where shooting days are severely limited by the club's operating restrictions.
Also a special thanks and commendation by local and visiting shooters to non-shooters Desi Farrell, Mick Cook and Nev Reid for giving up their Australia Day to trap for the club.
Congratulations to Mick Munro from Ardlethan who took out high gun with a score ahead of the field. Shoot offs were required to determine third place winners of the grades, where Lee Cunningham eased out Brett Inch in AA Grade, Col Dorman over Paul Bone in B Grade and Craig Sanderson over Mat Richardson in C Grade.
The interclub competition for the coveted Adrian Hayes Memorial was won this year by the Dubbo Club with a score of 283 ahead of the Mudgee Club with 280.
