Rob and Peta Shaw of Bermagui travelled to Holbrook near Albury to watch son Brad Kingston be part of the Catafalque Party (naval guard) at both the dawn and the mid-morning ceremonies in the small town on Hume Highway.
Holbrook happens to be the final resting place of the now decommissioned Oberon class submarine HMAS Otway and the ceremony at the now landlocked sub commemorated 100 years of submarines in the Australian Navy.
Brad a graduate of Narooma High School is now ranked Seaman Star.
He's stationed at HMAS Albatross in Nowra but is training as an Avionics Technician at RAAF Base Wagga.
